Many thanks to all those who came out on Dec. 23 to The Pour House in Stratford for the annual Holiday Shaker.
The event is now in its ninth year and is organized by long-time friends Colin James and Danielle Brodhagen.
It began as a way to get high school friends together over the holiday season.
The party grew in popularity and moved from a house party to Foster’s Inn several years ago and is now held at The Pour House to accommodate even more guests.
Guests pay a cover charge and bring a non-perishable food item, which is then donated to the House of Blessing.
A huge thank-you to all the guests who came to show their support and drop off their donation.
We are pleased to announce that this year’s Shaker raised $1,675 for our local food bank, along with a collection of 10 grocery bags filled with non-perishable food items.
The event would not be possible without the generosity of our host establishment, its staff and its sponsor Hop City Brewing, who provided the food for the event.
Special thanks to Long and McQuade and Tight Industries for contributing the sound and lighting systems, bringing state of the art DJ technology and local DJ talent to the event.
Many thanks to MAS Thai Boxing who volunteered their time as the security for the event.
We wish you all the best for 2012 and look forward to seeing you at the next Holiday Shaker.
