RBC regional vice president Tom Parisi announced earlier this week a $10,000 donation in support of the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation’s annual Mayor’s Gala.
The event, hosted by Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson, will take place January 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stratford Festival Theatre Lobby.
“We’re delighted to support the work of the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation,” said Parisi. “This fine organization – and the many donors it represents – has provided over $160,000 to local charities since 2004, making a real difference in our community.”
The gala, billed as “Perth County’s most fabulous cocktail party,” is the foundation’s signature event. This year’s theme is Fire and Ice for a Winter’s Night, with Latin-inspired music by “El Sabor” featuring Alfredo Caxaj and Michael Wood, and Stratford Festival alumni Scott Wentworth and Marion Adler acting as emcees.
The gala is also a showcase for Perth County’s rising status as one of Ontario’s up-and-coming culinary regions, featuring elegant canap?s donated by local restaurants and food producers.
“It’s a great evening in support of a truly worthy cause,” said Parisi. “I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the incredible food and dynamite performers lined up to entertain us.”
The Mayor’s Gala supports operation of the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation, which raises and administers endowed funds. Income from these funds is returned to the community through grants to local charities. The foundation holds $1 million in community endowments and has granted over $160,000 to local charities.
