As we head into the holiday season, we are provided with the opportunity to reflect on the past year and the many triumphs and challenges we have endured personally, within our families and with our friends in the workplace and in the community.
It is safe to say that in doing so, there is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on what is a very changing economic landscape within our country that affects us as a community. As well, it’s an opportunity for us to help those less fortunate who are experiencing challenges within their lives.
Stratford and area benefits greatly from the work of many organizations providing support in the form of shelter, food, clothing and fellowship throughout the year. As a community, we collectively display how much we care for our fellow citizens from day to day. The Christmas season gives us the opportunity to reach out to help our fellow residents on a personal level, and I ask all of you, if possible, to consider giving to those less fortunate to help them through this holiday season.
On behalf of my family and the staff and council of the City of Stratford, I would like to wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and seasons greetings for a safe and happy holiday season. May the new year bring you good health, much happiness and prosperity.
Mayor Dan Mathieson
