CAMBRIDGE - Stratford United played Cambridge Chronics in SWRSL First Division action here Sunday night.

United easily dominated a short-staffed Chronics squad and racked up a score of 7-2 before the night was over.

In the first half, Greg Kelly opened the scoring with a text-book free kick, taken from about 25 yards out.

This was quickly followed by Jordan Hayle getting his first of three goals as he converted from a great series of passes starting with Mac Preikschas to Andy Balona to Ricky Polanco and on to Hayle for the finish.

Cambridge got one back at the 35-minute mark.

Hayle got his second of the match five minutes later after he pounced on a fumbled ball by the Cambridge keeper.

Only four minutes had elapsed in the second half when Jason Kielec took a shot from 30 yards out and it found the top far corner.

Five minutes after that, Hayle netted his third of the game on a breakaway as he stroked the ball past the on-rushing, but basically helpless keeper.

Aap Inthasian was next to score when a long pass found him in front of the net, and his resulting volley left no doubt where the shot was intended and found its mark.

After 75 minutes of play, Chronics were awarded a penalty kick after a handball in the box and they scored their second goal of the game.

With only 10 minutes to go, defensive stalwart Cole Hutchison found the back of the net, with Balona and Ricky Polanco again assisting with some great passes.
Stratford manager Tony Hunter says United is presently in second place in the SWRSL standings.

United plays the Bridgeport Camels this Sunday, Aug. 22 in Bridgeport. Kick-off is at 5 p.m.
