Young golfer to play with the pros

Stratford golfer Natalie Gleadall will be playing with the pros in the Scotiabank Women's Charity Challenge at the Magna Golf Club on May 20.

The event will feature LPGA Tour golfers, including Annika Sorenstam, Morgan Pressel and Alena Sharp.

The day will include a nine-hole shotgun tournament for participants and a clinic conducted by the golfing greats. The afternoon will feature a nine-hole exhibition match by Sorenstam, Pressel and Sharp that will incorporate the nine top-ranked Canadian Junior girls.

Along with Gleadall, other junior girls taking part in this year's event are Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Rebecca Lee-Bentham of Richmond Hill, Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Brittany Henderson of Smith Falls, Marilyn Cadieux of Deux-Montagnes, Laura Hildebrandt of Ancaster, Augusta James of Tamworth and Jaqui Yanch of Barrie.

"Scotiabank is pleased to provide this opportunity for the junior golfers to play and interact with professionals from the LPGA Tour," said Sylvia Chrominska, executive vice-president, human resources and public, corporate and government affairs, Scotiabank, in a press release. "This event provides a great opportunity for these up-and-coming players to meet and learn from some of golf's most talented women."
