Should we honour Adolf Hitler too?

Morgentaler receiving this “reward”, the Order of Canada, is akin to Adolf Hitler receiving a humanitarian award for his work with the Jewish community in Germany and Austria in the late 1930s and onward. Other unsuitable groups were also “eliminated” during Hitler’s reign of terror. These included people who had physical or “mental” handicaps. Also included were those who were not of the Ayran race. Ironically Hitler himself was not of the Ayran race he so much admired.

We bemoan the terrible slaughters of people living in other countries on other continents. Africa and China come to mind. But we sanitize the slaughter that occurs in our hospitals. We do not count the loss. We are the three monkeys: See no evil; hear no evil; speak no evil.
