Current Toronto Maple Leafs – goalie Vesa Toskala and forwards Matt Stajan and Boyd Devereaux – will join teammate Mark Bell for the 3rd Mark Bell Pyramid Classic fundraising hockey game Thursday, Aug. 21 at the Pyramid Recreation Centre in St. Marys.

Also attending is former Leafs’ captain Doug Gilmour.

In addition, confirmed for this year’s Bell Classic are RBC Olympians Lori Dupuis and Jayna Hefford, San Jose Sharks’ draft pick, centre Logan Couture, and Aaron Downey, a member of the 2008 Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings.

New to the event is Los Angeles Kings’ Drew Doughty, chosen second overall in the recent NHL draft. The Londoner played defence for the Guelph Storm the past three seasons.

Also playing is Morgan Marziali, of St. Marys. She’s a forward with the Ohio State Buckeyes and is going into her senior year.

There are two players from Stratford taking part. Joey Hishon was a first-round pick of the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack last season. Devin Didiomete spent this past season in Sarnia with the OHL Sting after being acquired in a trade with Sudbury. The former Stratford Culliton is a draft pick of the NHL’s Calgary Flames.

As well, organizers are pleased to announce that CBC’s Peter Mansbridge will be lacing up his skates for the event, and Terry Crisp and Walter Tkaczuk will be returning to the benches as game coaches.

Tickets are being sold for two lucky individuals to win the opportunity to play in the game along with the celebrity players. Entrants must be 16 years of age or older. This year, odds of winning are even better, with a 1-in-25 chance to win.

Tickets for the draw are $20 each or three for $50. Tickets for entry into the game are $10 for adults, $5 for those 16 years of age and under. Youngsters five and under are free.

Tickets are now available at Dunny’s Source for Sports, ReMax St. Marys office, McPhail’s Pet Services, TD Bank, and the Pyramid campaign office located in the St. Marys train station.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for a pre-game autograph session at 6:30. Game time is 7:30 p.m. followed by a silent and short live auction.
