City native launches iPhone application

A Kitchener accountant and former Stratford resident has released a new application he developed for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Luke Gladding’s money management application called Ledger was launched through the iTunes store last week. The application allows users to track their funds like an accountant, even recording purchases, transfers and loans. Users can also export account balances and transactions via email.

In a press release, Gladding – a Wilfrid Laurier honours business administration BPA graduate – said the simple interface allows users to view and edit transaction details at any time and is one of the few applications flexible enough to be used by small businesses.

Gladding was raised in Tavistock and worked for a time at Famme and Co. He also has a long history of working with Apple computer applications.

“I have always wanted to create an application for both accountants and non-accountants alike,” he said, in the press release.

The new application is available at the iTunes store under “App Store/finance.” A demonstration of the application can be found at www.ledgerapp.com. The program sells for $3.99.
