Welcoming winter with open arms
In years past, come September, I have moaned about the incipient demise of summer and raged about the approaching onslaught of winter. But not this year – nope, no more.

I have come to the realization that idiots only seem to materialize during the warmer months of the year. Vandalism, theft, desecration of church property, setting off firecrackers at 3 or 4 a.m.  These things predominantly occur during those balmy summer nights. It’s too darn cold in winter to spend any time outdoors! After all, even morons know enough to stay indoors and keep warm. Why they might slip and fall on some ice while they are stealing someone else’s property or they might get frostbite while holding a spray can and destroying a car or two.

Yes, this year I am fully embracing winter. In fact, I’m looking forward to it.  Ah the quiet, the serenity!  Peace to all and Merry Christmas.
