The weather on Monday, June 1 didn’t dampen the spirits of the 142 golfers who participated in our sixth annual “Fore the Memories” golf tournament raising a record $16,000.

For the first time in its history, the tournament was sold out. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to enhance programs and services for the over 1,300 individuals in our community living with a diagnosis of Alzheimer Disease.

Once again we were proud to have Blackcreek Technologies and Ontario Home Oxygen & Health as sponsors of our tournament. A big thank you to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival for the gift package that each golfer received and to Orr Insurance for sponsoring our Hole-in-One.

To the many businesses and individuals who sponsored a hole, donated a prize or gave a cash donation you were a vital key to help us achieve our goal. It is great to have the tremendous support from our local community.

To our golfers, you did not let a little rain keep you from having a good time and we thank you for your support of the Alzheimer Society.

Also, thanks to our volunteer golf committee who planned a great event; the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly, many braving the elements equipped with umbrellas and warm sweaters; and to the Alzheimer Society staff for going above and beyond to make the tournament a great success.

Thanks again to the Perth County community, this is the best place to live and work.
