Bales set on fire
In the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 24, a large pile of straw bales was set on fire on Line 15, north of Wildwood Conservation Area. Over 75 straw bales were destroyed by the fire, with damage estimate at $6,000. A white plastic gas funnel was seized from the scene and is being examined by experts.
Money stolen from Legion
Sometime between Sept. 15 and 28, the safe at the Royal Canadian Legion on St. Patrick Street was broken into and money was stolen. The crime is believe to have likely taken place on Sept. 26 during a singles’ dance.
New Holland tractor stolen
Around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, a 2005 New Holland tractor with a 620 loader was stolen from the yard of Stratford Farm Equipment on Road 101, at the border of Waterloo Region. Also stolen was a black tandem hydraulic trailer. The total value of the items are $30,000.
