The Rotary Club of Stratford has released the line up for the 2010 Live At City Hall concert series. Now in its fifth year, the series highlights Canadian musicians in the folk/blues world.
Leading off this year’s series on Saturday, Jan. 2 is multi-award winning singer/songwriter Dan Hill, who’s known for such hits as Sometimes When We Touch, Can’t We Try and I Fall All Over Again.
The second date in the series, Saturday, Feb. 6, showcases four-time Best Male Vocalist nominee and two-time Best Acoustic Blues Act at the Maple Blues Awards, Harrison Kennedy, who performed as a member of the Chairmen Of The Board as part of the Detroit music scene in the ’70s.
The Stratford Backyard on Saturday, Feb. 27 features Stratford artist Steve Rae as host, with Brad Canning, Barb Fulton, Paul Shilton and the local super group Strings ‘N Taps. It will be an evening where each performer gets their share of centre stage as well as assisting each other musically.
Valdy makes his long awaited return to Stratford on Saturday, March 27. He is famous for such Canadian classics as Rock and Roll Song, Landscapes, Yes I Can and Peter and Lou.
The final date of the series is Saturday, April 24 and features The Marigolds. Gwen Swick,
Caitlin Hanford and Suzie Vinnick all share a love of good songs, beautiful harmonies and great grooves.
